Dr. Talaat has joined Nile University in 2008 as an Assistant Professor at the Intelligent Transportation systems (ITS) program. Dr. Talaat is the current director of the ITS program. She conducts research in the area of ITS technologies and deployment. Dr. Talaat has participated in teaching a number of undergraduate/graduate courses in the general domain of Traffic engineering and in the specific field of ITS, at the University of Toronto, Cairo University, and Nile University. She is a former NSERC research scholar and the holder of awards from the Transportation Association of Canada, ITS Canada and the Ontario Government.
Dr. Talaat’s current research interests include: Traffic simulations, access management, emergency evacuation management, commercial vehicle routing, and advanced traveler information systems.
In addition to her existing role with Nile University, Dr. Talaat is an Assistant Professor at Cairo University where she teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in traffic and highway engineering.
